Anxious to hear how our Florida session went?
Well, now you can!
All 6 tracks from The AW Sessions EP are now available for purchase on our profile through Snocap. It's only a buck a song, which is a third the price of a gallon of gas. How can you beat that?
In other news, a reminder about this Friday, June 22. We're playing the legendary Aardvark, along with our friends and fellow Monarch band Radio King. Doors open at 8, and get there as early as you can to ensure a good parking spot. Tickets are $10 at the door, but if you hit one of us up, we have advance tix for $7 each. And since our set is 9 songs, that's less than a third the price of a gallon of gas! The deals just keep getting better and better!!
At any rate, we hope to see you Friday, and stop by our profile and buy a tune or two.. If you buy all 6, technically you can have the entire EP before it's even available. That's gotta make you feel pretty damned special.
See you Friday,
Cordell
Tanner

As those of you who follow the 'Dust Devils know, tomorrow morning we are heading back to Lakeland, Fl. to do some recording. Where it goes remains to be seen, and how far it takes us, well, we refuse to speculate. However, we're always excited about going into the studio, especially after hearing what these guys we're going to be working with can do. We're laying down a few tracks, and are gonna see what the guys at WH can do with them. From there......well, let's just say 'we'll see'.
With that, we bid you all a fond farewell for now. We'll be returning on Sunday, and we will let you all know how things went.
We love and appreciate you all,

Hello all....
For those of you who might not know the history of this band, it's a long, rough one. The current lineup has been in place since October of 2004, but SoD as a band has been pounding the proverbial long road since Tanner and Cordell met and started jamming in high school almost 6 years ago, and it's approaching 4 years since that fateful night in whcih Cordell answered Danny's ad and talked him into leaving the band he was in to come check SoD out (ok, it didn't happen like that. Wait, well, yeah, it did...)
We've played every crapgig in every off the path bar you can imagine; we've been electrically shocked by microphones on stage ( if you want to call plywood stacked up on wooden milk crates a "stage", anyway); we've played a bar that was half music venue and half goth gay bar (Tanner's still having nightmares); been threatend by the crazy cat lady in Kilgore, almost taken up fisticuffs with other musicians over a wig....We even played a show in Danny's sister's living room when the weather prohibited an outdoor appearance (keep Cordell away from Jell-O shots, by the way...) We've seen 3 drummers come and 2 of them go (eternal thanks to both Jorge, who's still very much a part of the SoD collective..er.."family", and Jason, wherever he may be)....Brian participated in his first radio interview with a band less than 2 weeks after he joined (just following the bread crumbs.....) and had to dive for his life away from the clutches of the Flaming Wasp of Death (never underestimate the hurdling prowess of a drummer who's scared shitless)...
Well, hopefully, all of the blood, sweat and tears will be made at least partially worth it soon....
If you've been paying attention for the past few months, you've heard mention of the Rock Solid Pressure Showcase in Lakeland, Fla. that we've been invited to attend. We may be getting the opportunity to promote ourselves to people who just might be able to take us to the ever elusive "next level", and it's becoming hard to contain the excitement. We really hope that the time and money end up being well spent. So, as the time draws near, keep us in your thoughts and prayers (if you're so inclined); that this could spell big things for the future for this band, and (above all), that we complete the trip safely.
So that we may, once again, "rock out with the cock out" in front of our nearest and dearest fans, right here at home in Texas.
See you when we get back,

Hey everyone. Just dropping by to let you all know that we are gearing up for the October show at Lillian's in Lakeland, FL. Hopefully, this will help really getting the ball rolling for SoD, and we will keep you all posted.
Today is the 5th Anniversary of the most frightening day any one of us has had the misfortune of living through. We will all remember exactly where we were and what we were doing on the 11th of September 2001, and exactly what we felt when the stark realization of what exactly was occurring began to materialize. We all lost a little something that day, and we hope that none of us ever forget how naked and vulnerable a feeling that it was to realize that we were that susceptible to evil, on our own home soil.
Unfortunately, we also lost our sense of pride, as a collective people, that we so strongly and genuinely displayed during the weeks and couple of months after 9/11. 5 years removed, we've already started bitching about long lines at the airport, and how inconvenient it makes things. The next time you feel like you want to get ugly with someone just trying to make you safe, remember exactly where you were and what you were doing that Tuesday morning. And how empty you felt.
Any-who-diddly-oo, after we return from the sandy beaches of Tampa Bay, we will be hitting the Phoenix in Arlington on 11/11. This is gonna be a big, badass show; trust me, you're gonna want to see it.
See you all soon,
Hannibal

Just dropping you guys a note to let you all know we're still around, and have a couple of shows coming up. This Saturday, June 3, we're playing a Tribute to the Kilgore High School Class of '06 at the Kilgore City Park Ampitheatre along with AFTER, Naked Sky, and Trail of Ashes. Admission is one can of non-perishable food items; all proceeds will go to benefit the Helping Hands Foundation of Kilgore. Boomtown Barbecue will be there, there'll also be a dunking booth (all proceeds of which will be donated to the KHS Student Council).
After that, all is quiet until July 29, at which time we'll be returning to Dreamworld (aka The Phoenix) in Arlington, Tx. They have a liquor license now, plus it is still all ages. As always, parking is free with the $10 cover.
We're still working on August and September, but we will keep you posted. In the meantime, stop by our merch store and buy you some swag.
See you all soon,

Hello, campers....
Just rattling off a quick note to remind you to keep your eyes on the site for an official release date for Nineteen Days to Nothing. We're excited about this, and we hope you are, too. When the CD drops, we will have a party. You will be notified. Rock on.
Speaking of parties, on May 27 we will be playing a special private engagement for the 2006 graduating class of Kilgore High School in Kilgore, Tx. This is going to be a huge celebration, and we hope to see alot of people there. If you would like to attend and want to keep tabs on the organization of the event, sign up for our mailing list by clicking the graphic on the homepage. More details will be coming soon.
In the mean time, everybody keep it sick and we'll see you all later!!!

Designing a new website can often be a monumental pain.
If you're not careful, you can spend hours upon hours on end working your ass off on something that you're just not happy with. Graphics, layouts, other things you think will be more appealing to the eyes of wayward surfers who stumble on to your site. And the questions you have to ask; Is it attractive? Does it function? Is it difficult to navigate?
This time around, we decided that less is indeed more. We made the all new shadesofdust.net a little less abstract and self important in nature, and decided to let the material it consists of do the talking.
L'est we forget...all of you have been in anticipation of the release of our forthcoming LP, Nineteen Days to Nothing. Do not fear, the CD will drop before the end of February. We guarantee it.
